United World Colleges
For students aged 16-19
Locations: London, Canada, New Mexico (USA), Wales, Italy, Swaziland,
Hong Kong, India, Norway, Venezuela, Singapore
Through international education, experience and community service,
United World Colleges enable young people to become responsible
citizens, politically and environmentally aware, and committed to
the ideals of peace and justice, understanding and cooperation,
and the implementation of these ideals through action and personal
example. United World Colleges believe that students should share
an academic experience that emphasizes critical thinking, intercultural
understanding and exposure to a variety of points of view.
All United World Colleges use the International Baccalaureate Diploma
Programme available in English, French and Spanish. It is a demanding
pre-university course of study that leads to examinations. IB Diplomas
are accepted by universities in more than 110 countries. The programme
was born of efforts to establish a common curriculum and university
entry credential for students moving from one country to another.
Several UWC offer scholarship programmes, some covering up to 100%
of tuition.
