introduction to isss
Learn about the ISSS office and basic functions and services are office provides both students and DU faculty/staff.
ISSS staff can train groups on the dimensions of culture and how these dimensions impact perceptions and interactions amongst people from different cultural backgrounds. You will leave this training with a deeper understanding of what culture is, how it is manifested, as well as some tools for practical application to your everyday work. We will work with you to tailor this workshop to the specific needs and learning objectives of your group.
Introduction to academic advising for international students
This training covers immigration-related topics an academic advisor may encounter when advising an international student on his academic program. This presentation is designed for people who are either new to their role or who would like a refresher training. This training helps demystify some of the additional rules and forms that academic and faculty advisors see when working with international students.

This training is an interactive workshop with the International Student Advisors of ISSS. Case studies are examined, and academic advisors are invited to bring examples, questions, concerns and trends regarding advising international students. This workshop is designed as a “next step” for advisors who have already had hands-on experience working with international students. This training will create some dialogue regarding international students and academic advising.

Admissions processing for International students
Learn about the additional steps International Students are required to complete after being admitted to the University of Denver in order to obtain their I-20 and visa documents. This training is primarily for admissions staff at the undergraduate and graduate level.
