Practical idealists
Our values reflect the University of Denver's broader commitment to internationalization and putting scholarship into practice for the global public good. Our school trains practical idealists who live their values in their actions while navigating the complex political, cultural and administrative realities of our globally interdependent world.
Theory and skills
We stand out for our emphasis on theory and practice, a winning combination that shapes our students into creative problem solvers sought by government, business and non-governmental organizations around the world. Because we're preparing you for a leadership role in research, field work, advocacy, management and policy making, you'll get real-world skills to complement your theoretical knowledge. All of our programs offer substantive field-based training and participation in for-credit internships.
An interdisciplinary approach
Our courses focus on analyzing the whole range of transnational issues, from terrorism to poverty to killer epidemics. You'll study these problems through a variety of disciplines, and through the lenses of the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Many of our programs are partnerships with schools and departments across the University of Denver and with institutions of higher learning at home and abroad.
Flexibility
In consultation with a faculty adviser, you can choose your coursework to master core competencies and pursue specialized fields of study. Dual degree programs, certificates and exchange programs also allow you to customize your program to meet your specific interests and career objectives.
A leader in international-affairs education
Two consecutive surveys conducted by researchers at the College of William and Mary and published by Foreign Policy magazine have ranked our signature master degree programs among the best in the United States, ahead of such schools as Syracuse, University of Chicago, Yale, Stanford, University of California-Berkeley and MIT.

A Josef Korbel School education lasts a lifetime. Our faculty and alumni are leaders in their respective fields who will share their connections to the public, private and nonprofit sectors with you. The Office of Career and Professional Development helps you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals by offering skill-building workshops, professional development programs and for-credit internships.
