Josef Korbel School of International Studies

Social Science Foundation

The Social Science Foundation serves to support the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. The SSF was established in 1923 and today manages a trust with which it promotes the study and application of international relations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In recent years, for example, the SSF has helped finance the school's unique certificate programs in homeland security, global health and humanitarian assistance, while providing seed capital for new centers and research institutes.

A distinguished panel of respected leaders in their fields, the SSF board is dedicated to the continuing progress of the Josef Korbel School by:

  • Advising the dean on the strategic directions of the school;
  • Supporting new programs financially;
  • Enhancing the reputation and improving the visibility of the school;
  • Assisting the dean in his efforts to secure funding from resources outside the university in order to achieve the school's goals;
  • Supporting the dean with ongoing alumni and public relations.
