Total credit hours required in INTS: 25 minimum. All courses must be completed with a C- or better in order to count towards and satisfy requirements for the minor.
Required International Studies Core (5 credits)
Students must choose at least one of the following core courses: INTS 1500 - Contemporary Issues in the Global Economy; INTS 1700 - Introduction to International Politics; or INTS 2975 - 21st Century Global Governance.
Additional Coursework (20 credits)
INTS minors may satisfy remaining requirements via INTS courses of their choosing (note: coursework from other departments is not eligible to be applied toward the INTS minor).
INTS minors are not required to take courses in a single concentration area. Instead, courses may be chosen from any of the following concentration areas:
- Culture, Society & International Politics
- Global Political Economy
- International Development, Gender & Health
- International Organizations, Law & Human Rights
- International Security & Conflict Resolution
Study Abroad (maximum of 5 credits)
Study abroad is optional for INTS minors. Students are limited to transferring and applying a maximum of 5 quarter credit hours toward the INTS minor. Courses must be pre-approved by the BA Program office prior to the start of the study abroad program. In the event that approved courses exceed the total maximum credit allowed for transfer, credits may not be split or divided. Please refer to the Study Abroad section for more information.
Foreign Language Requirement
No additional foreign language requirement, beyond the general University requirement, is needed for a minor in INTS.
Declare a Minor
Students may declare a minor online or they may declare in person at the Office of the Registrar located in University Hall.
Graduation
At the time of graduation, minors are approved through the Office of the Registrar. The credentials evaluator will look for at least 25 credits in the INTS minor.
