Upon receiving my B.A. in International Relations and Korean Peninsula Affairs from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) in 2012, I decided to pursue an academic route instead of foreign service. I applied to the Josef Korbel School of International Studies because, among other things, I wanted to study international politics in greater depth, while obtaining necessary quantitative and qualitative techniques for social science research. The School provided me with excellent methodological training, particularly in such sub-disciplines of political science as IPE, Comparative Politics, and IR Theory.
I run a blog at the Russian Council for International Affairs' website, where I write about Russian foreign policy and world politics.
Abridged List of Research Interests: China's foreign policy, North Korea's nuclear problem, comparative democratization and political culture in the post-Soviet world, positive political theory, political economy of rentier states, U.S.-Russia relations.
