- 2nd Year
- MA International Development
- Specializations in Humanitarian Assistance and Governance Issues
My name is Yaa Nsiah and I am from Ghana. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2012 with a BA in International Relations at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I spent a semester studying Spanish in San José, Costa Rica and the summer interning with an eco-tourism organization in Puerto Viejo in Limón.
I’m currently studying International Development with a focus on conflict and governance issues. I am a part of the International Student Division of Korbel. One of the main reasons for choosing the School was the flexibility of its programs and the ability to define the program according to my interests. After taking some classes, talking to other students and especially seeking advice from professors (they are so helpful), I have been able to define my studies according to my career goals. My interactions with admission counselors and staff prior to getting admitted was very helpful because they connected me with students with similar interests and with Ghanaians who went to the Josef Korbel School that are still in the Denver area. I knew that when I arrived at the Korbel School I would find faculty and staff that care about making your degree program worth your time and money. I wouldn't have chosen otherwise.
