- 2nd year
- M.A. Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration
- Peace Corps Master's International
Hi! I'm from Palm Harbor, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a BA in International Affairs with concentrations in Economics and Religion. Here at the Josef Korbel School, I'm an M.A. candidate in the Global Finance, Trade, and Economic Integration program. My concentration is in Economic Security, which I sort of made up, but it's been really great so far! I am also in the Master's International program which means as part of my degree, I will serve 27 months in the Peace Corps post coursework. I recently found out that I have been assigned to depart in the spring for Georgia!
I chose the University of Denver for my Masters primarily because of the location. There are many high ranking schools in D.C. but knowing that my career very well may take me there permanently, I wanted to live elsewhere while I still could. Additionally, the Josef Korbel School of International Studies is well known in D.C. so I didn't feel it was a disadvantage, especially with the D.C. program and internships available there through DU. The school's partnership with the Peace Corps also appealed very much to me, as I've always considered being a volunteer. Through the MI program, I can do both. The Peace Corps community at the University of Denver is the largest at any school in the country, and I love having so many returned volunteers that I can glean knowledge from before heading into the field.
