- M.A. International Studies student

Hello! I'm Afton. I'm a first-year Josef Korbel School student, originally from the Seattle area. I attended the University of Washington for my undergraduate degree, where I double-majored in French and Comparative Literature. After graduating, I worked at the UW for a year as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. The following year, I spent 10 months working in Nantes, France as an English teacher in a public high school. During my year in France, I applied to the Josef Korbel School and am now a happy new resident of Denver!
I'm an M.A. candidate in the International Studies program with concentrations in Environmental Policy and Europe. Korbel was my top-choice school because of its location, price and scholarships, and the flexibility of the International Studies degree track. I hope to use my degree from the School, my fluency in French, and my past work experience as a launching pad into a career focused on US-European Union relations.
