The Josef Korbel School offers a variety of fellowship, scholarship and grant opportunities to support language study and internships, encourage professional development and promote research.
SSF and Paterson International Internship Fund
You can apply to the SSF and Paterson International Internship Fund if you've secured an unpaid, domestic or international internship and meet certain eligibility criteria. Awards vary in amount depending on a variety of factors, including length and location of the internship, as well as cost of living. Destiny Capital Corporation Internship Fund
If you're a student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration (GFTEI) degree program, you can apply for this award if you've secured an internship that is either unpaid or that offers compensation that would otherwise make it impossible for you to accept the internship opportunity. Destiny Capital internships can be in the Denver area, elsewhere in the U.S. or abroad. Awards vary in amount depending on a variety of factors, including length and location of the internship, as well as cost of living. Recipients are designated "Destiny Capital Corporation Scholars." Destiny Capital Corporation Learning Enhancement Initiatives
If you're a student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration (GFTEI) degree program, you can also apply for financial support to defray costs associated with professional or academic conferences, intensive language study, independent research and similar projects. For more information, please contact the Office of Career and Professional Development.
Conference funding
The Graduate Student Association (GSA) can help subsidize your expenses if you present a paper at a conference (relative to your field of study) or conduct dissertation research. The maximum award for domestic conferences is $500 and $1,000 for international conferences. The conference funding deadlines are: December 1, March 1, and June 1 annually.
Submit completed conference funding applications and paperwork to the GSA box in the Office of Student Affairs in Ben M. Cherrington Hall. Please direct conference funding questions to the GSA president.
If there is a balance remaining after receiving conference funding from GSA, the GSA board will evaluate and forward qualified applications to the Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) to be considered for its Professional Development Grant.
A common application will be used to be considered for both funding opportunities and can be accessed on the GSAC website. Additional information and forms can be found here.

Conference reimbursement funding is limited and not guaranteed to all students. Reimbursements will come in the form of reimbursement checks for documented, accrued expenses indicated through original receipts.
Graduate Student Professional Development Grant (GSPDG)
The Graduate Student Professional Development Grant (GSPDG) was established to encourage student participation in scholarly and creative activities that support academic progress and foster professional growth. The grant is competitive, and funs are subject to availability. Awards will be allocated by a grant committee appointed by the Associate Provost for Graduate Studies.

Please note: Josef Korbel School students can only be considered for the GSPDG if they received GSA conference funding and have a balance remaining.
Research assistantships
Financial assistance is available through part-time academic employment, assisting a faculty member with his or her research. Research assistantships are competitive and based on student expertise and faculty need. Position availability is discussed during fall orientation and most positions are available at the beginning of the academic year.
