Fellowships, grants and other awards

The Josef Korbel School offers a variety of fellowship, scholarship and grant opportunities to support language study and internships, encourage professional development, and promote research.

The Language Fund

We'll help you finance your foreign language study. The Language Fund provides fellowships for language training abroad or in the U.S. Contributions from the Language Fund help defray your costs. For more information, contact the Office of Student Affairs, 303.871.3608.

SSF and Paterson International Internship Fund

You can apply to the SSF and Paterson International Internship Fund if you've secured an unpaid, international internship and meet certain eligibility criteria. Awards vary in amount depending on a variety of factors, including length and location of the internship, as well as cost of living. Destiny Capital Corporation Internship Fund

If you're a student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration (GFTEI) degree program, you can apply for this award if you've secured an internship that is either unpaid or that offers compensation that would otherwise make it impossible for you to accept the internship opportunity. Destiny Capital internships can be in the Denver area, elsewhere in the U.S. or abroad. Awards vary in amount depending on a variety of factors, including length and location of the internship, as well as cost of living. Recipients are designated "Destiny Capital Corporation Scholars." Destiny Capital Corporation Learning Enhancement Initiatives

If you're a student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration (GFTEI) degree program, you can also apply for financial support to defray costs associated with professional or academic conferences, intensive language study, independent research and similar projects. Conference funding

We'll help subsidize your expenses if you deliver a paper at a conference.  The maximum award for domestic conferences is $750 and $1,500 for international conferences. Students must present a paper at the conference to apply for funding.  The conference funding application and transaction log can be found here. Additional paperwork for international conferences must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the conference. Please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions, 303.871.2544. 

Research assistantships

Financial assistance is available through part-time academic employment, assisting a faculty member with his or her research. Research assistantships are competitive and based on student expertise and faculty need. Position availability is discussed during fall orientation and most positions are available at the beginning of the academic year.
