The Josef Korbel School provides qualified students with various types of financial assistance. For example, if you are accepted to one of our 90-credit hour master's degree programs you are eligible to receive a merit-based scholarship of up to $15,000. Still, most of our students apply for additional scholarships and loans.
Federal aid
If you are a U.S. citizen, financial assistance is available through U.S. federal loan programs. You can file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federally sponsored loans (Stafford Loans and Perkins Loans) and work-study positions. The FAFSA form is available by January 1 for the following academic year. Financial aid applications must be submitted to the University of Denver Office of Student Financial Services.
Helpful downloads
The quickest way to obtain and file a FAFSA is online. You can also obtain a paper form from any college or university financial aid office. You must renew your FAFSA every year. The Office of Student Financial Aid will email notification of loan eligibility in April.
Work Study
The Federal Work Study Program offers part-time employment for eligible students demonstrating financial need. Work-study jobs range from 10-20 hours per week and the pay scale ranges from $5,000-$8,000 per academic year.
To be considered for Federal Work Study, complete the FAFSA and be sure to check box #26 regarding your interest in a work study position. Funding for work study positions is limited and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Available work-study positions can be found on the website of the University of Denver Office of Financial Aid.
