Scholarships

Scholarships for new applicants

The Josef Korbel School recognizes applicants for their outstanding academic achievement. We offer  merit-based scholarships to qualified candidates accepted to any of our six 90 credit hour master's degree programs.

$15,000/year Founders' Scholar
Undergraduate GPA 3.75 and above
Verbal GRE 550 and above

$10,000/year Dean's Scholar
Undergraduate GPA between 3.50 and 3.74
Verbal GRE 550 and above

$10,000/year Faculty Scholar
Undergraduate GPA 3.25 and above
Verbal GRE 600 and above

All complete applications are considered (no additional application is required) and scholarships are guaranteed for two academic years based on good academic standing. Students applying to any of the dual degree programs, certificate programs, the Master's of Development Practice or Peace Corps affiliated programs are not eligible for one of the above scholarships due to the financial benefits of such programs but are considered for other scholarships.

If applicants don't fit into the categories above, they will be considered for a merit-based scholarship based on materials submitted with the application for admission. No additional applications are required for consideration.

For PhD applicants

All applicants admitted to the PhD program are eligible to receive a full tuition scholarship to cover the cost of tuition. Additionally, some students may receive a living stipend. Each year we receive approximately 100 applications to the PhD program and accept four students.
