Meet the Josef Korbel School's Office of Graduate Admissions staff

Greetings from the Office of Graduate Admissions at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies! It's our pleasure to assist you as you navigate the graduate school application process.  Brad MillerBrad Miller, Director

Brad Miller joined the Josef Korbel School of International Studies in November of 2007. Prior to the Josef Korbel School, he was the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions at the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University. He holds a BA from Eastern Mennonite University and an MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Denver.

He manages the wonderful Josef Korbel School of International Studies Admissions staff and oversees the day to day administration of the office. Outside of the office, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and son Silas.  When he is not with them, he is training for marathons, hiking or reading the Economist. Nicole VilegiNicole Vilegi-Sandage, Associate Director

Nicole Vilegi-Sandage joined the Josef Korbel School of International Studies staff in March of 2006. She came to the University of Denver after spending three and half years working and living abroad as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica and volunteering/backpacking. Nicole graduated from the State University of New College at Brockport with a degree in molecular biology and is currently enrolled in the Josef Korbel School's Peace Corps Fellows program, pursing her MA in International Studies with concentrations in Finance, Communications and Administration.

As Associate Director of Admissions, Nicole is responsible for the recruitment of and meeting with prospective students, managing the website and marketing of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies programs, and assisting current students with admissions and financial aid needs. Outside of the office, Nicole can be found trail running, playing racquetball, working in her garden, backpacking or sipping joe at her favorite cafes. Rachel CrockerRachel Crocker, Admissions Assistant

Rachel Crocker joined the admissions staff in fall of 2011. She is originally from Wyoming an graduated from the University of Wyoming with BAs in International Studies and Ethnomusicology. She is a first year International Human Rights Student with interests on post-conflict development and the impact of conflict on women and children.

 

 


Kiela ParksKiela Parks, Admissions Assistant

Kiela Parks joined the admissions staff in August 2010 as the Communications Coordinator. She is originally from the central coast of California and received her BS in Diplomacy and Military Studies from Hawaii Pacific University. She is a second year International Human Rights student with concentrations in Security, International Law, and Africa. After Korbel, she hopes to assist refugees navigate the complex asylum and resettlement process and will likely go on to complete a Juris Doctorate. Read Kiela's blog

 

Mike SmithMike Smith, Admissions Assistant

Michael Smith is a first-year International Human Rights student who is also pursuing the Humanitarian Assistance Certificate. He is originally from West Michigan and received his B.A. in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. After graduating, Michael worked for the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado for three years. Looking for a change of pace he joined the Peace Corps and was placed in Panama. Michael focused mainly on youth development, but also took part in a humanitarian assistance mission, developed sustainable tourism infrastructures, and spent time assisting a Panamanian government agency that provided skill training to adults. Michael hopes to concentrate on the Horn of Africa during and after his time at the Josef Korbel School. Read Mike's blog.

 

Jessica WilliamsJessica Williams, Admissions Assistant

Jessica joined the Korbel admissions staff in September 2011. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio and received her BA in International Relations and Diplomacy with minors in African Studies and Development Economics at The Ohio State University. She is currently a second-year Peace Corps Master's International student pursuing a degree in International Development with a regional focus on Africa and interest in Educational Policy. In her spare time Jessica enjoys cooking and exploring Denver.

Sarah CrozierSarah Crozier, Marketing Assistant

Sarah Crozier joined the Marketing Team in September 2011. At Korbel, she is a first year International Development Student in the Peace Corps Master's International program. Originally from Boulder, CO, she graduated from Boston University with degrees in Journalism and International Relations. Sarah focused on the Middle East and has worked as an advocate for media freedom in Jordan, as well as worked in newsrooms around the Boston area. Read Sarah's blog.

 

Daniel GreenDaniel Green, Marketing Assistant

Daniel Green joined the marketing team in September 2011 as a marketing assistant. He updates, edits and manages the official Josef Korbel School website. He earned his BA in History from the University of Central Arkansas in 2007 and is currently working towards his Masters' in International Studies with a focus on American foreign relations and diplomacy. Daniel also works with the Denver Council on Foreign Relations and its affiliated research project, Global Colorado. Read Daniel's blog.

 

Erica KingErica King, Editorial Assistant

Erica King joined the admissions staff in the fall of 2010 as an Editorial Assistant. She is a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin and new to Denver. Erica is in the International Studies program with a concentration in Communication and a regional focus on Russia and former Soviet Union states. Read Erica's blog.
