Current Internship Opportunities:

Friends of Gueoul is seeking an education-oriented intern with opportunity to travel to Senegal.

They are in need of someone to brainstorm and/or create internet curriculum to teach French language, math, etc.  It is possible to create lesson plans (art, science, math, etc) and present them to the students in Gueoul.  The office is located close to campus and needs some organizational help keeping records of all the students they help.  This internship will be available starting in the spring quarter.  If you are interested, please contact AI.

Angel Covers is seeking a Fundraising intern.

The Fundraising Intern will aid in the development and implementation of an annual giving program and focus on organization, coordination and marketing of special events. A commitment of 3-6 months is preferable due to the long-term nature of planning a special event and follow up for an annual campaign.

The Simwatachela Sustainable Agricultural and Arts Program is seeking a geology intern.

SSAAP is looking for a student with a geology background to do research on the quality of water in Sierra Leone. SSAAP is looking to expand its water project in Sierra Leone through hand-dug wells, however, the project is unsure of the soil quality. Sierra Leone is a minerally-rich country, in diamonds, silver, platinum, copper, oil, etc. If we dig wells for the residents of the villages, will they be drinking unsafe water? How deep would the wells have to be dug to ensure safety of water quality for the residents?

This might make a good thesis project.
