Building skills for future success
Completing internships is critical to your educational experience, complementing your academic studies and putting classroom skills and knowledge into real-world practice. Therefore, the majority of our master's degree and certificate programs require an internship. The Peace Corps Fellows program for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers requires a practicum which is similar to an internship. In most cases, you may get academic credit for completing the internship.
The Office of Career and Professional Development is available to help you:
- Research and identify internship opportunities in the public, private, nonprofit, NGO and multilateral sectors.
- Prepare for and complete the application and interview processes.
- Develop and utilize specific skills during your internship to enhance your future career search.

Fund your experience
We encourage our students to gain international and professional experience through an internship. We also understand that spending a quarter abroad or taking an unpaid internship may not be possible without financial support. Therefore, our office offers funding sources for unpaid or underpaid domestic and international internships.
As a Josef Korbel School graduate student, you can apply for the Social Science Foundation and Paterson funds if you meet eligibility requirements. If you are a student in the Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration program, you can apply for the Destiny Capital Corporation Fund.
