Profile

Professor and Head, Colonel, Department of Military and Strategic Studies, US Air Force Academy (1999-present); Adjunct Professor, Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver (2007-present); Associate Professor of Political Science, US Air Force Academy (1991-1995); Assistant Professor, US Air Force Academy (1985-1988). Served in flying operations, military education and headquarters staffs throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia and the Pacific. Currently writing a book on strategy as Visiting Scholar at the Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies, Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and Visiting Scholar, USAF Academy Center of Character and Leadership Development.  Author of the book, American Security Agreements Past and Present, and over a dozen articles and chapters on security, strategy and the military profession.
