Arianna NowakowskiProfileArianna Nowakowski is a PhD candidate (ABD) at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, writing her dissertation on the construction of masculine subjectivity within the discourse of Russia's post-Soviet national Idea. Although her official fields of study are international politics and comparative politics (with a concentration in advanced Russian language), her research interests also include: gender studies; cultural criticism; discourse theory; pshycholinguistics; and Russian History, culture, and politics. She teaches a research and writing course in the human rights program at the Korbel School during the fall and spring quarters, in addition to teaching in the undergraduate curriculum in the Department of Gender and Women's Studies. Arianna is currently employed full-time as the Assistant to the Chair in the Department of Languages and Literatures, in addition to serving as an editor for Human Rights and Human Welfare, the Korbel School's online human rights journal. She also serves on the editorial committee for Expressions, the official e-newsletter for the Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
