Josef Korbel School of International Studies

European studies emphasis

The Josef Korbel School has a growing and expanding regional emphasis on Europe, including comparison with other regions. Currently, there are two professors who teach and conduct research specifically on the politics and societies of Europe and the European Union-- Rachel Epstein and Martin Rhodes. As well, we have the Center for the Study of Europe and the World (CSEW)-- co-directed by Professors Epstein and Rhodes- that is well-connected with universities and centers in various European countries. It holds workshops and conferences on Europe and Transatlantic issues, produces publications on those and related issues, and it is affiliated with the Colorado European Union Center of Excellence (CEUCE) which is based at the University of Colorado, Boulder. We currently aim to expand our joint activities with CEUCE later in 2011.
