(2001-2008); Visiting Professor, Central European University, Budapest (1999), Diplomatic Academy (Moscow, 1998) , Peoples University (Beijing,1997) and Janos Pannonius University, Hungary (1991); Honorary Professor, Peking University (1996-2008), Honorary Professor, People's University (1995-2008); 17 lecture tours to China (1988-2008), 15 international speaking tours for State Department to 13 countries (1988-2007). Author or editor of more than 10 books about international affairs, including The Rise of Israel: A History of a Revolutionary State (2008), Hitler And His Allies in World War II (2007), Torrents of Spring: Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics (1995), and Symbolic War: The Chinese Way of War, 1840-1990 (1993).
