The Josef Korbel School is home to a number of centers, institutes and clinics that give yet another dimension to the school's commitment to integrating teaching, research and practical problem solving. - The Center for China-U.S. Cooperation is the only institution in the Rocky Mountain region devoted to building mutual understanding, prudent policies and avenues of dispute resolution among the people of Greater China and the United States.
- The Center on Rights Development, promotes universal recognition of human rights through research, advocacy, monitoring, representation, and outreach.
- The mission of the Center for Middle East Studies (CMES) is to promote and develop the study and understanding of the societies, political systems, economies and international relations of the Middle East and the broader Islamic world. The center seeks to promote both specialized knowledge and public understanding of this critical part of the world. It seeks to engage and sponsor academic research based on an interdisciplinary social science agenda which leads to the development of new scholarship on the Middle East as well as provide a forum for debate on the contemporary politics of region. A specific focus of this center's activity is an examination of the relationship and computability between Islam, Muslim societies and democracy. - The Center for the Study of Europe and the World (CSEW) aims to promote research, reflection and policy analysis on a series of EU and transatlantic relations issues. The Center will offer a speaker series, international conferences, and workshops featuring expert practitioners and academics on a host of issues, including: the impact of the financial crisis on the Eurozone, the EU-US relationship, the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the causes of globalization and its consequences for national economic organization both in Europe and beyond, and many more.
- The Collaborative Refugee and Immigrant Information Center (CRIIC) contains an annotated archive of bibliographic abstracts of films, articles and books highlighting the issues pertinent to and surrounding displaced and immigrant communities.
- The Conflict Resolution Institute is dedicated to exploring central issues and mechanism of conflict de-escalation,peaceful solutions, and reconciliation between parties, whether in international or domestic politics, the professional workplace, or personal relations. Its interdisciplinary Graduate Program (drawing on the schools of business, communication, international studies, law, professional psychology, social work and theology) and the Center for Research and Practice, foster scholarly-community linkage and promote justice and fairness through an educational mission and a research pledge focused on negotiation, mediation and facilitation training, conflict assessment and resolution evaluation tools, and reflective conflict resolution application. Institute start-up and development was generously supported by the Henry R. Luce Foundation.
- The Frederick S. Pardee Center for International Futures serves as a world source of research, analysis and education in the field of global forecasting. The center heavily uses a computer forecasting system called International Futures (IFs) that can help explore historical data and long-term global change and alterative futures in the interacting arenas of demographics, economics, energy and agriculture, the environment, and socio-political patterns. The center is involved with many global partners, as well as with faculty and students of the Josef Korbel School, in collaborative research projects and publications.
- The Human Trafficking Clinic provides professional research, writing, and educational outreach on human trafficking and all forms of modern day slavery. Our aim is to provide research that improves inter-organizational cooperation and accountability, influences policy, and raises awareness in combating human trafficking and modern day slavery.
- The International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) is a professional development and leadership program for mid-career professionals in international affairs which seeks to improve the quality and diversity of the leadership of the United States in government, non-profit organizations and the private sector. Jointly sponsored by the University of Denver and the Aspen Institute, it is currently funded by the Ford Foundation, the Fetzer Institute, the UNCF Special Programs Corporation, the Aspen Institute, the University of Denver and individual donors. - The Institute for the Study of Israel in the Middle East fosters research and exchanges to facilitate peace and prosperity for Israel and its neighbors and to deepen ties between these countries and the U.S.
- The Sié Chéou-Kang Center in International Security and Diplomacy is a unique teaching and research center, providing training for future leaders and research on strategy and governance within a broad, cosmopolitan understanding of international security and diplomacy. The Sié Fellows program is designed for the strongest candidates who contribute actively to the center's research and engage with global policy makers as they earn their degrees.
