Bethel Eshetu

Humanitarian Assistance Student Bethel EshetuBethel Eshetu is a MA candidate in international development, with a certificate in Humanitarian Assistance and concentration on African development. She takes particular interest in policy implementation in response to humanitarian crisis in the context of refugee and IDP protection.

Before coming to the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, Bethel interned with the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia as an advocacy and research intern. At the Josef Korbel School, Bethel is currently working as a program assistant for the Humanitarian Assistance program. In addition, Bethel is also part of the Humanitarian Assistance Applied Research Group. In this role, Bethel assists as a researcher in an ongoing disaster preparedness project in Haiti.

As an international student from Ethiopia, Bethel did her undergraduate degree at Loyola University in Maryland and received her BA in global studies and minor in biology.
