Katie McCarthy is a second year master of arts candidate in international human rights with concentrations in humanitarian assistance and international law. Her main interest is the crossover between humanitarian assistance and international human rights, specifically the human rights-based approach to the delivery of aid in displacement camp settings.
Over the summer, Katie interned at World Vision with the Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs Team in Washington, DC. She someday hopes to work as a program management officer in a humanitarian assistance organization to support and deliver program assistance to those working in the field.
Prior to beginning graduate studies at the University of Denver, Katie graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2012 with a bachelor of arts degree in both international area studies and political science.
