Teresa Baranowski is pursuing a MA in international human rights and the Humanitarian Assistance certificate at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Teresa was an intern with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in New York and a casework intern with the International Rescue Committee in Oakland, CA.
In the summer of 2013, Teresa served as a Humanitarian Policy & Advocacy Intern with Save the Children in Washington, DC. There, she targeted high-level officials in the US government with letters focused on key advocacy objectives related to refugee children and the crisis in Syria; and also contributed to the substantive development of a campaign to raise awareness of refugee children during the United Nations General Assembly. She hopes to continue this work by focusing on policy in humanitarian emergencies as well as refugee policy.
Teresa grew up in Albany, CA (near San Francisco) and received a bachelor of arts in political science and Spanish from Whittier College in 2010.
