Expanding your world

The University of Denver (DU) is home to more than 11,000 students, with approximately half of those scholars enrolled in various graduate courses throughout the university. That means you'll rub elbows with peers who have already seen much of the world and are able to share their experiences in classroom discussions and personal friendships. The University of Denver strives to remain an exceptional private institution that achieves excellence through diversity. Check out the programs, events and support provided by the Center for Multicultural Excellence.

As a student at the Josef Korbel School, you will also have access to sports and cultural events throughout DU, as well as events and organizations specific to the school. Our event calendars will keep you in the loop, so you can discover everything DU has to offer.

Living arrangements and getting around

If you decide to live in one of DU's modern, centrally located residence halls, you can request a graduate roommate with similar interests. Plenty of diverse off-campus housing is also available within an easy walk of the university. DU is located in a safe central Denver neighborhood that's a harmonious blend of students, singles, retirees and families. Everything you need - including cyber cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, laundromats and other shopping facilities - are just blocks from campus. Check out these resources to help you find and secure off-campus accommodations.

Due to the compact nature of DU and the surrounding community, only about half of DU students bring cars to campus. Many find that their bicycles and feet are the best ways to get around in our dry, sunny climate. A trip to downtown Denver is as easy as jumping on a light-rail train or a bus, since stops for both are within a few blocks of campus.

Dining

Two on-campus dining halls offer a variety of healthy meals available with a prepaid pass. Menus change daily to incorporate ethnic flavors, locally grown produce and familiar standbys. You can also use your meal plan "cash" to buy goodies at convenience stores, food carts and cafes across campus.

On-site health care

You can count on the Student Health & Counseling Center for a wide range of medical and mental health services. Physicians, nurses, psychologists, physician assistants and other professionals staff the center.
