CMES Associate Director Danny Postel was mentioned in an article by Syria Deeply, a digital media project aiming to increase knowledge and understanding of the conflict in Syria. Danny is mentioned in connection with his work with the Karam Foundation's Zeitouna initiative, a creative therapy and wellness program for displaced Syrian children. Read the article here

CMES Director Nader Hashemi was featured in an article in Trinity News, Ireland's oldest student newspaper housed at Trinity College Dublin, profiling his lecture at Trinity's Society for International Affairs. Read the article here.

October 13, 2014: Syria Comment - "Joshua Landis on ISIS, Syria & the 'Great Sorting Out' in the Middle East--Interview with Danny Postel"
CMES Associate Director Danny Postel was featured on the highly influential blog,  Syria Comment , when Editor-in-Chief Joshua Landis reposted the interview he gave with Postel during CMES' Sectarianization event on October 1st. The interview, along with a link to Prof. Landis' article on "The Great Sorting Out," can be found here. It is also available on the CMES YouTube Channel and under the "CMES Conversations" tab at our website.

October 8, 2014: Times Literary Supplement - "Long View: Review of the Oxford Handbook of Islam & Politics"
CMES Director Nader Hashemi was featured prominently in the  Times Literary Supplement's review of the Oxford Handbook of Islam & Politics, for which Prof. Hashemi was a contributor on the topic of "Islam & Democracy." You can read the full review here.

August - September, 2014: David Barsamian's  Alternative Radio program on KGNU radio aired two interviews recently featuring former CMES Visiting Scholar, Mohamad Elmasry, and recent CMES speaker, Chris Giannou. Prof. Elmasry's segment is titled, "Egypt: From Pharaoh to Pharaoh," and Dr. Giannou's segment is titled, "Understanding the Middle East."

September 3, 2014: University of Denver Magazine - "Quick Questions: Middle East Expert Nader Hashemi on ISIS"

July 1, 2014: IranWire - "From Homs to Azadi Square: Iran and the Spectacle of Syria, and Interview with Nader Hashemi & Danny Postel"
CMES Director Nader Hashemi and Associate Director Danny Postel were interviewed by IranWire's Roland Elliott Brown following the joint CMES-SOAS conference, "Syria - Correcting the Narrative, Building Solidarity," at the University of London. Brown's interview focused on Iran's involvement in the Syrian conflict and the potential repercussions for the Islamic Republic. Read the full interview here.

May 7, 2014: Boston Review - "Norman Finkelstein: Reading John Stuart Mill in Iran [Video]"

The interview CMES recorded between Associate Director Danny Postel and Norman Finkelstein was picked up and shared by  Boston Review , and includes a nice forward from Mr. Postel describing the conversation's theme: Dr. Finkelstein's experience teaching J.S. February 18, 2014: Multiple Stories Covering Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Video Conference with CMES & DU Students
The event CMES hosted with Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Islamic Republic of Iran, was picked up by multiple press organizations and reported worldwide. The  New York Times Time Magazine National Journal , the  Global Post , and Agence France-Presse all covered the event and the remarks Dr. Zarif Gave. Follow the links to read each of the stories.

The event was also covered on television by CNN and Al Jazeera America. Dean Christopher Hill gave live interviews about the event with both news stations.
