
In the hours and days following the 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile on Feb. 27, that
country's U.N. ambassador Heraldo Muñoz acted as a vital communications link to the
world from his New York offices in the wake of the tragedy. Muñoz earned his master's
from the Josef Korbel School in 1976 and went on to receive his Ph.D. from the Josef
Korbel School in 1979. Both degrees are in international studies.
