The Journal of Contemporary China (JCC), edited by Professor Suisheng (Sam) Zhao from the Center for China-US Cooperation at Josef Korbel School, is moving up in the ranks. In June, Thomson Reuters released the 2011 metrics of
scientific journals and the JCC’s Impact Factor moved from 0.437 in 2010 to 0.677
in 2011. Its overall rank also jumped from #27 to #10 of the 66 area studies journals
indexed by Thomson Reuters. “I am delighted that the JCC has performed so strongly
and has improved so significantly. We will continue to work to improve its performance
in the future,” said Professor Zhao. The JCC ranks among the top three of all the
China studies journals and is the number one China studies journal in North America.
