» Association of Students for Human Rights

In a welcoming environment, students interested in international human rights engage in social activities and mentoring. Members also share their work and internship resources, participate in field-based discussions, and provide peer thesis support.

» CENEX

DU's Crisis Engagement and Negotiation Exercise (CENEX) is an annual, daylong, professional simulation run by Korbel students, for students, at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. The simulation provides students with the opportunity to engage in a real-time crisis that must be negotiated in a high stakes, rapidly changing environment. » Center on Rights Development (CORD)

The Center on Rights Development was established in 1988 as part of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. The Center promotes universal recognition of human rights in all societies by undertaking research on human rights violations, establishing links with academic and legal monitoring centers around the world and conducting outreach to local and national organizations engaged in human rights activism and education. The Center sponsors several events and activities including speakers, films, an annual symposium and other human rights activities.

» Council on International Finance, Trade and Economic Integration

By bringing knowledgeable industry professionals from various countries to speak at DU, the club fosters understanding of international global financial interests among faculty and students.

» Denver Women in International Security

Students explore the rising role of women in approaching homeland security and international issues.

» Graduate Student Association

Josef Korbel School student government, the association represents students in policy-making activities, promotes social and intellectual interaction, facilitates cultural diversity and discusses student concerns.

» Graduate Student Association Council

The council coordinates activities to promote the academic, social, cultural and general welfare of DU graduate students by providing a venue where individual school's student governments can interact. 303.871.3842

» Human Trafficking Clinic (HTC) Task Force

The mission of the task force is to increase awareness of the scope, impact, and dynamics of  human trafficking and to interface with governmental entities seeking timely research. The Task Force can be reached at htc@du.edu.

» Initiative for Global Education and Awareness (IGEA)

The Initiative for Global Education and Awareness (IGEA) is a student organization at the University of Denver associated with the Josef Korbel School of International Studies and the Center for Teaching International Relations (CTIR). We are a group of globally minded graduate students whose mission is to encourage, expand and promote global education initiatives in our community and beyond by working with K-12 students and teachers.

» International Association of Emergency Managers - University of Denver

International Association of Emergency Managers is a graduate student, faculty, staff and alumni group affiliated with the national IAEM organization. It is for any and all people interested in working within the emergency management and response fields. This group will offer training and support conference attendance, panel discussions, exercises and other opportunities to gain diverse experience in the emergency management field.

This organization helps student groups collaborate, communicate and coordinate their work.

» Josef Korbel School's Journal of Advanced International Studies (JAIS)

JAIS is a graduate student-organized, -edited and -written online journal of international studies. Submissions within the field of international theory, political theory, international relations, comparative politics and international political economy will be accepted from all universities. The purpose of this journal is to create a forum for the publication of academic work by graduate students of international studies and political science. While JAIS will accept submissions with embedded policy recommendations, it primarily seeks to provide a platform for scholarly student work. This online journal is published annually each spring.

» Latin American Studies Association

The association supplies a forum to foster intellectual discussion, research and teaching about Latin America and the Caribbean.

» Middle East Discussion Group

The Middle East Discussion Group is an ad-hoc group of students and faculty who meet regularly to discuss topical issues relevant to the contemporary politics and societies of the Middle East.

» Organization of Security Students

To challenge and further develop their own thoughts and beliefs, this diverse student group examines current international and national security issues through discussion forums covering a variety of ideologies.

» Peace Corps Community

This campus wide group promotes the international voluntary spirit of the U.S. Peace Corps by supporting students interested in volunteerism, sharing knowledge of international community work, having fun and networking.

» Sante: Global Health Group

Intent on bringing international health to the forefront of education, this group hosts seasoned healthcare professionals who promote a better understanding of health's critical impact on international affairs.

» Students for Africa

This group aims to create a lasting presence and interest in African issues through dialogue, community outreach and educational programs surrounding African countries and diaspora.

» Sustainable International Development Institute

This student group strives to improve the human condition through the creation of a more sustainable world. It promotes innovative, effective global development by participating in grass-roots activism, region-specific research, and the exchange of ideas and information.
