DU Task Force on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
In order to both study this increasing transnational crisis as well as develop legal and policy interventions, the University of Denver's Task Force on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking was initiated in early 2005. The mission of the Task Force is to increase awareness of the scope, dynamics and human impact of human trafficking and to interface with governmental entities seeking timely research.
This year we are focusing on the planning and preparation for the "Iberian/Iberian-American International Conference on Human Trafficking." This conference will happen in the next several years, and we are currently working for our formal proposal to Queen Sophia of Spain and our co-sponsor academic institutions in Spain and Mexico. If you are Spanish/Portuguese speaker or interested in researching human trafficking issues in the region, this is a great chance to be involved.
