Audition Requirements

Accordion - Undergraduate

1. Three pieces of contrasting character; each from a different period:

   •  Baroque (e.g., two-part invention by Bach)

   •  Classical (e.g., Mozart, Haydn)

   •  Romantic/Post-Romantic (e.g., Schubert, Chopin, Albeniz)

   •  Twentieth Century (e.g., Creston, Diamond, Lundquist, Gart)

2. Major and minor scales in parallel and contrary motion, two octaves.
3. Sight reading to be selected at the audition  

Accordion - Graduate

1. Prelude and Fugue by J.S. Bach using either free bass or stradella
2. Prelude and Dance by Paul Creston
3. Two solo pieces of your choice, different in character and style  
4. Major and minor scales in parallel and contrary motion, two octaves.
5. Sight reading to be selected at the audition
