Audition Requirements

Guitar - Undergraduate

1. Allemande and bourree from J. S. Bach, I Lute Suite (recommended edition - Frank Koonce, ed.)
2. One study from the following list:

   •  Fernando Sor, any of the first 10 in the Segovia edition of 20 Sor Studies

   •  Dionisio Aguado, any selected among etudes 10-15 of the Zen-on edition

   •  Mateo Carcassi, any of the first 10 of 25 Progressive and Melodious Studies, Op. 60

3. One work of your own selection
4. One major and one melodic minor scale
5. Sight reading to be selected at the audition

Guitar - Graduate

1. One movement from J.S. Bach's solo lute, violin, or cello sonatas, suites, or partitas (excluding the allemande and bourree from the first lute suite)
2. Two solo pieces of your choice, different in character and style
3. One three-octave major and one three-octave melodic minor scale of your choice
4. Sight reading to be selected at the audition
