Audition Requirements

Viola - Undergraduate

1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (three octaves)
2. Two contrasting pieces of your choice, minimum difficulty level of

   •  F. A. Hoffmeister Concerto in D Major

   •  J. S. Bach Suites # 1 - 3

   •  J. N. Hummel Fantasy

      3.  One etude of your choice, minimum difficulty level of

           Mazas Op. 36 or Dont 24 Studies, Op. 3

Viola - Graduate MM Performance

1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (three octaves)
2. One etude of your choice, minimum difficulty level of Kreutzer 42 Studies or Rode Caprices
3. Two contrasting movements of an unaccompanied Bach ( Suites, Sontas, or Partitas )
4. A movement of a sonata or concerto, minimum difficulty level of

   •  Walton Concerto

   •  Brahms Sonata, Opus 120

   •  Schubert Arpeggione Sonata

Viola - Graduate MM Suzuki Pedagogy

1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (three octaves)
2. First movement of a concerto, minimum difficulty level of Stamitz Concerto
3. One movement of an unaccompanied Bach Suite
4. One etude of your choice, minimum difficulty level of Kreutzer 42 Studies
