This studio houses our Sony Oxford OXF-R3 large format digital recording console and Sony 3348 HD digital recorder.  This equipment was donated to Lamont by Mr. Eric Foster-White, prominent popular music producer, engineer, songwriter, and frequent guest clinician.  The Apple Power Mac G5 computer in this room was donated to Lamont by Apple Computer.  This studio is designed for session recording, film scoring and large ensemble recording sessions from our Kirkegaard designed rehearsal/recording spaces.  This will now be our primary live concert recording facility.

Sony Oxford Studio - Now Online!
Studio Under Construction in June 2006
Senior Joe Joe Janeba records the Lamont Jazz Orchestra live from Gates Concert Hall using the Oxford.
OXF-R3 Machine room showing three of the four I/O racks, the SP Rack, and the host computer.
The 3348HD is still awaiting installation.
With the Sony Oxford digital audio mixing console online, we are able to record live events with an ease and sound quality that is hard to believe.  Plus the ProTools studio can now be used exclusively for sessions and mixing.  Our students are learning the signal flow and operation of this magnificent console, and their recordings sound better for it!  Many thanks again to Mr. Eric Foster-White, who donated this system to Lamont.
