Students enter our French program with various levels of preparation. It is possible to begin studying French as a first-year student and still complete all requirements for the major.

Our advanced courses center on in-depth discussion of the human experience as expressed in the poetry, theater and prose of the Francophone world. Our classes emphasize active participation. Many of our students double-major in related fields such as International Studies, Communications, History, Theater, Art History and Music.
