2007-2008 GRADUATE FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TESTING


General Testing Information

Students should take the responsibility to discuss the requirements for foreign language proficiency with their graduate advisors. Exams should be taken at least two quarters before your intended date of graduation. Due to high demand, students must register *prior* to the exam.

Group exams are generally given two times per quarter during the academic year. A registration fee of $35 is due the day of the exam. Dates and times can be found below:

 

Summer Quarter 2008

Normal testing is not offered during the summer.

 

Fall Quarter 2008

Friday, September 19.................9:30am-12:00pm

Friday, October 24......................1:30pm-4:00pm

 

Individual exams can be scheduled, under extenuating circumstances, by contacting Jeff Quinlisk in advance. A registration fee of $50 is due the day of the exam.

Exam Guidelines and Information

  • Sample exams for some languages are available in Sturm 346. These are not applicable for IMBA students. Check out this useful sheet for tips and resources that will help with test preparation.
  • A maximum of 2.5 hours is given to complete the exam.
  • Students are allowed to use 1 dictionary and 1 verb book during the exam.
  • No electronic devices (electronic dictionary, laptop, Ipod, etc.) are permitted for use while students are testing.
  • The exam fee must be paid in cash. We are unable to accept checks, credit cards, or flex cash at this time.
