The Latino Leadership Institute at the University of Denver is Colorado's leading program for preparing the next generation of Latinos for outstanding contributions in politics, business and philanthropy. With a population of over 1 million residents or 21% of the state's population, Colorado Latinos have the responsibility and opportunity to help lead our state. The Latino Leadership Institute is designed to accelerate the pace at which young Latino professionals contribute to the Colorado community.
Participants will typically be Colorado Latinos between the ages of 25-40. The ideal candidate will have already shown great promise in his/her chosen field and be poised for additional contributions. Upon completing the program, participants will be equipped to:
- Assume higher positions in private business management
- Serve on corporate and non-profit boards
- Become candidates for political office
The Institute is housed at the University of Denver, which US News and World Report ranks as one of the top 100 universities in the country. The Institute will draw from cross-campus resources and the brightest minds throughout the state. Courses will be held on the DU campus and at centers of influence throughout the city of Denver.
Applications for the inaugural 2015 program year will be accepted from August 1, 2014 through October 31, 2014.
