This is a pilot program that was launched summer of 2008 as a result of a generous
gift from the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation and the Daniels Foundation.
This program is designed to enable PLP students who are studying abroad to further
their citizen leadership training within a global context by serving in community-based
organizations abroad. Any student participating in a Cherrington Scholars program
at DU is eligible to apply for a small stipend to help augment any costs related to
local service in their city of residence for study abroad.
PLP currently had 16 students engaged in global service this year. Their countries
included:
- Spain
- China
- Turks and Caicos
- Thailand
- Melbourne, Australia
- Dominican Republic
- Bologna, Italy
- Melbourne, Australia
- Gold Coast, Australia
- Thailand
- Italy
- Costa Rica
