New Hampshire Chief Justice John T. Broderick Jr. received a standing ovation from a capacity crowd of judges, attorneys and business leaders at the 2009 Transparent Courthouse® Award dinner on October 22. In recognizing Chief Justice Broderick, IAALS Executive Director Rebecca Love Kourlis stated, "He gets what the problems are; he gets that we must find solutions; and he has the courage and commitment to fight for those solutions." | On September 9, more than 70 veteran attorneys, business executives and judges gathered to discuss an issue that many believe has had the biggest impact on the practice of law in recent years – electronic discovery. The lively debate featuring two prominent Denver attorneys, Gary Ceriani and Gregory Kerwin, as well as Donald McLaughlin, former e-discovery counsel at Qwest Communications was moderated by IAALS Executive Director Rebecca Love Kourlis. |
| 2009 Civil Rules Summit: From Anecdotes to Action On March 2-3, IAALS hosted the 2009 Civil Rules Summit. Thirty-two renowned civil justice system experts including U.S. District Court Judge Lee Rosenthal gathered to discuss America's civil justice system problems, but with a greater emphasis on identifying solutions.
