The Bench Speaks on Judicial Performance Evaluation:
A Survey of Colorado Judges
IAALS and Washington State University Professor David Brody conducted a survey of Colorado's appellate, district and county court judges to gauge their opinions on the effectiveness of the state's judicial performance evaluation (JPE) process. Given national attention on JPE as one solution to counteract increasing public perceptions of a lack of judicial accountability, this survey couldn't be more timely.

Transparent Courthouse™: A Blueprint for Judicial Performance Evaluation
In winter 2006, IAALS released a companion report to its earlier publication on judicial performance evaluation programs around the U.S. The latest publication provides useful tools to aid jurisdictions interested in establishing or improving their own judicial performance evaluation program.

Shared Expectations: Judicial Accountability in Context
Released in fall 2006, the Institute's first publication offered a comprehensive overview of judicial performance evaluation standards and programs nationwide. Since its release, IAALS has been contacted by courts in nearly every state for copies of the report or additional information.
