Civil Case Processing in the Oregon Courts
This report represents the third stage of an extended IAALS study of civil litigation in Oregon.  The first two stages examined civil case processing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and perceptions of the Oregon bench and bar about the state’s civil justice system.  This report includes analysis of nearly 500 cases with a focus on motion practice, requests to deviate from scheduled events, time between key events, and overall time from filing to disposition for each case.

Civil Case Processing in the Federal District Courts: A 21st Century Analysis
Nearly 8,000 closed federal cases in eight districts were analyzed by IAALS to investigate case management practices of courts throughout the U.S. This report drills down on strengths and weaknesses in the management of civil justice system cases, providing judges, court staff and attorneys with unique insight and guidance to improve the efficiency of their courts.
