We are working to fill an information gap on the impact of the Rules of Civil Procedure on rising litigation costs in America. Given this, we are gathering in-depth cost data from businesses. IAALS will also survey in-house counsel from across the country to gather their insights on the civil justice process and its overall effectiveness. We will also survey judges and lawyers in Arizona and Oregon to assess the impact of their unique state Rules on the functionality of the legal system.

Research and Reforms Attract National Interest
The IAALS-American College of Trial Lawyers Task Force on Discovery collaboration has generated significant interest throughout the U.S. legal community. Our research and reform recommendations have attracted high-profile news coverage and resulted in numerous academic articles and citations. And, influential policy-making bodies including the Conference of Chief Justices and the Standing Committee of the Federal Judicial Conference have made our findings the focus of presentations.
