PROGRAMS
Laura Kaspan Hohmann reminded everyone that part two of Camila Alire's program, Mock Interviews, will be held on January 29th at 10 a.m.
The Colleague Connection is an informational networking program scheduled for March 1st. DU, LISA, and SLA will sponsor the event and provide a panel discussion. LISV classes may be rearranged so that everyone has the
opportunity to attend. The student admission rate is $14.00.A capstone seminar may be scheduled for the spring quarter. The program will provide information on the basic nuts and bolts of a capstone project and will include a panel to answer questions.
LISV PROGRAM
The administration is currently searching for a new faculty member. They hope to hire for the spring quarter so that the new person is able to start teaching in the summer.
The program will continue running in its current format through the fall of 2000. Two new concentrations will be available: Youth Services and Reference Librarianship.
FUNDRAISING
LISA would like to hold a fundraising event in order to supply money for a book scholarship. Tentatively, the quarterly scholarship would be a $200.00 stipend paid to one student enrolled in the LISV program. The
students interested in receiving the money would be put into a lottery and one name would be drawn. The attendees suggested the following fundraising ideas: raffle off items and/or classes donated by organizations (in conjunction with the Colleague Connection), hold an event with a celebrity or author, sell items with the LISA logo (pins, shirts, etc.), or conduct a silent auction at the CLA conference.
Amy Dissmeyer generously volunteered to help prepare letters to be sent out to organizations asking for donations.
OTHER
The next two LISA meetings for the spring and summer quarters will be held during the week in order to boost attendance. Meeting times and places to be announced.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
