Social Justice

Gain tools to work for justice and create positive social change.

The Social Justice LLC is a community of students who want to learn about their social and moral development as individuals and as a community.

Through the lens of social justice, this LLC explores causes of oppression by examining various forms of privilege and power.  Students have meaningful dialogues through active participation and learning in the classroom, within the residence halls and outside of DU.

The Social Justice LLC is for students who are interested in addressing social, political and economic injustices, and learning about how to become an active part of the solutions through community engagement.

Student Profile: Erica Rasquinha

Why did you join the Social Justice LLC? I joined because I wanted to discuss social justice issues and have people argue against my views so I could gain a better perspective. I was also really excited about the community engagement part.

What is the best part about being in an LLC? The best part of being in an LLC is the community of people you meet, besides having a group of friends to come home to after class you meet older students who were in an LLC and swap stories.

What has been your favorite Social Justice LLC activity and why?  My favorite Social Justice LLC activity has been the retreat and especially the high ropes course. We all got to spend a lot of time together in a beautiful environment and gained a new understanding of each other’s fears and comforts through the course.
