Background:
Roscoe spent his childhood in Nebraska, did his undergraduate in Minnesota, and obtained graduate degrees in Philosophy from the University of Chicago. He also studied in New York and Freiburg, Germany (Fulbright). Roscoe arrived at DU in 1973 to teach Philosophy, but has spent nearly half those years in administration. He was Dean of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences from 1990-1998, and is now back teaching full-time in the Philosophy department as well as in the Social Justice Community, the Pioneer Leadership Program and the Wellness Living & Learning Community.
