Maps
Colorado's Southern Coalfields
1913-1914

This map depicts the major area of the strike zone, that of the Ludlow vicinity. The Ludlow area included the two major coal producing canyons in the region (Berwind and Delagua Canyons) and the union's headquarters at the Ludlow strikers' colony. Two main National Guard Companies were also stationed in this area. Company K, stationed at the militia camp south west of the Ludlow strikers' colony, was composed of mostly small business owners and college students. Company B, positioned near Berwind Canyon at Cedar Hill, included mostly mine guards and hired guns. The differing membership of these two groups meant they had different interests and alternate relations with the strikers.
