The main elements in the University of Denver visual identity are the mark, logotype and , which make up the signature. When used together, these elements provide a strong, balanced visual identity.

These main elements are foundational to the system:

  • The color red, with its reference to the Colorado landscape, has been important to DU historically. The University's colors, after all, are red and gold. Red plays a distinct role in the graphic identity.
  • The word "Denver" has power and presence as an identifier, relating the University to the city and the Rocky Mountains.
  • The simple powerful sweep of the D within a block suggests Denver's global scope.

Together, the mark, the logotype and the colors create a strong signature that has been widely associated with the University.
