Signature Color

Official Denver reds, along with black, should be used with the signature. The ink colors have been standardized to address a variety of communication requirements and are always used on the University's stationery. The Denver mark is designed to be reproduced with three ink colors run at full density or with four-color process. Excellent results can be attained by any of these methods, as long as critical registration tolerances are met.

Denver reds are PANTONE® 484 Red and PANTONE® 186 Red, shown in the current edition of PANTONE® Color Reference Manuals.

Four-color process

With four-color process inks, the Denver reds can be achieved by printing this way:

  • For the darker color, the mix is 0% C, 87% M, 83% Y and 30% K.
  • For the lighter color, the mix is 0% C, 91% M, 76% Y and 6% K.

 RGB color

For screen-based applications, we use RGB equivalents. Hex equivalents for Web use are listed in parentheses:

  • For the darker color, the mix is 178 R, 52 G, 39 B (#b23427).
  • For the lighter color, the mix is 226 R, 55 G, 62 B (#e2373e).
