March 10, 2015—The University of Denver today announced that Lynn Gangone, dean of the Colorado Women’s College (CWC), will be leaving the University to assume a position as vice president for leadership programs at the American Council on Education (ACE).
Gangone has been dean of the Colorado Women’s College since 2007, where she has led the college’s mission to educate women to boldly lead in their communities. In her new position she will oversee the Council’s suite of programming for current and future higher education leaders, including the National Women’s Leadership Forum. She assumes the post April 1.
“Lynn led the Colorado Women’s College during one of the most dynamic periods in the history of higher education in the United States,” said Gregg Kvistad, provost and executive vice chancellor of the University of Denver. “She has been a strong advocate of advancing women’s leadership both in Colorado and nationally and will be a valuable addition to the ACE.”
As previously announced, the Colorado Women’s College and the University are beginning the process of reimagining how the College can and should move forward in serving its mission to educate women to lead. Arthur Jones, associate dean of inclusive excellence at the CWC, will serve as acting dean and lead this effort until an interim dean can be named.
