Media Relations
We're here to help. In the Communications department within the Division of Marketing & Communications, we know the news media look to us for quick answers.
Reporters on deadline, or in the midst of breaking news, can count on prompt, professional assistance instead of an endless string of voicemail boxes and unanswered emails.
Our experienced staff understands the needs of news reporters, we understand the news cycle, and we're dedicated to providing timely, helpful information and contacts as quickly as possible.
Our staff can help arrange interviews with faculty experts and assist with media on campus. We have satellite, Skype and Road Warrior (studio-quality broadcast audio) capabilities for interviews.
The communications team also coordinates all crisis communications and works with Campus Safety and local law enforcement to provide the news media with information it needs on behalf of the entire University during a crisis. As a result, we help promote faculty experts, innovative programs, research and events through proactive media relations.
Because the University of Denver is a private institution, all media must have permission from NPA to work on campus prior to arriving on campus. University departments that invite media to campus should inform NPA before an interview occurs. These rules are designed to protect the privacy of faculty, staff and students.
Employee Communications
The Communications team also consults with the entire campus community—including students, faculty and staff—to promote and build the reputation of DU as a great private University dedicated to the public good.
We'll provide more information here about our expanded role of providing DU employee communications as it becomes available.
