Dr. Bahman Paul Ebrahimi is a Professor of International Policy and Strategy in the Department of Management at Daniels College of Business of the University of Denver. Prior to his appointment at DU, Bahman taught for four years at Hong Kong Baptist University. He has been on the faculty of four other universities in the United States and has lectured abroad.
As a writer, he has co-authored a textbook on International Business, and has published over eighty refereed journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings papers, and case studies. His research has appeared in many leading refereed journals including Human Resource Management, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Journal of Business Strategies, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Management International Review. He is an active presenter, reviewer, discussant, and chairperson at conferences around the globe.
As the recipient of several research grants, his current research interests focus on the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship, knowledge creation and innovation, strategy, and firm performance in Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China, and the United States.
Besides his writing and research, Dr. Ebrahimi has consulted with businesses and conducted executive training seminars on three continents. His executive training topics include strategic management, global strategy, total quality management (TQM), cross-cultural negotiations, cross-cultural sensitivity, and effective public speaking.

Dr. Cynthia V. Fukami is a Professor in the Department of Management at the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and her M.A. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Illinois and her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. As a faculty member at the University of Denver, she has taught courses on Human Resources Management, Compensation and Reward Systems, and Organizational Behavior in the day, evening, and executive MBA programs.
Dr. Fukami has conducted research and executive training sessions on many management issues including employee commitment, turnover, absenteeism, employee discipline, leadership, power and influence, motivation, and total quality management. She is a member of the Academy of Management and the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, and serves on the editorial board of the journal, Academy of Management Learning and Education.
Dr. Fukami has published over 40 articles on a variety of topics in the Management field. Her consulting clients have included Time Warner Telecom, the City of Englewood, CO, First Data Corporation, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She was awarded the 1992 Willemssen Distinguished Research Professorship by US WEST and the University of Denver, and was presented with the University of Denver’s 1992 Distinguished Teaching Award. From 2000-2002, she was the Evelyn and Jay G. Piccinati Professor for Teaching Excellence in the Daniels College of Business. She was a 1998-99 Pew Scholar in the Carnegie Foundation’s Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and was named a Fellow of the Carnegie Foundation.

Dr. James Griesemer is Professor and Dean Emeritus of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver where he teaches business strategy and strategic management. Professor Griesemer’s background brings together the worlds of theory and practice.
Prior to his professorial appointment Dr. Griesemer served as Dean of the Daniels College of Business from 1994 – 2004. In 2003 and 2004 the Daniels College was recognized as one of the top business schools by the Wall Street Journal and the College’s ethics program was ranked among the top 5 in the world. Its programs in Finance and Information Technology were also highly rated by recruiters surveyed by the Journal.

Dr. Robert McGowan is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Management in the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business. He has been with the College since 1983 and, prior to this, taught at The Pennsylvania State University at University Park, Pennsylvania. At the University of Denver, Dr. McGowan has served as Chairman of the Technology Management Committee for the Daniels College of Business, Chairman of Technology Curriculum Issues Committee for the University of Denver, and Technology Coordinator for the Daniels College of Business. Dr. McGowan has been actively involved in international programs as well. He is on the faculty of the Masters of Global Enterprise Planning at the University of Denver. As part of this program, he has taught business planning, American business culture, and global business planning to officials from Taiwan, Republic of China--both in the United States as well as in Taipei, R.O.C. He has also taught entrepreneurship to officials from Russia, Korea, and the People's Republic of China as well as several African delegations.
Dr. McGowan received his Ph.D. from Syracuse University. His areas of expertise include the strategic management of technology, issues management, business policy and strategy, and public policy. He has served as a consultant to the Governor's Office of the State of Colorado on strategic planning and the role of economic development policy. He has also served as an advisor to the Governor's High Tech Cabinet Council, Denver Rotary, and the U.S. Forest Service as well as the Colorado Advanced Technology Institute (CATI).
In 1991, Dr. McGowan was named Methodist Scholar/Teacher of the Year for the University of Denver, and in 1993, he was given the Cecil Puckett Award for excellence in teaching within the Daniels College of Business. In 1994, Dr. McGowan was named Professor of the Year at the Women’s College, University of Denver. Dr. McGowan is also an active member of the Society for Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), and he has engaged in scenario planning with a number of private sector organizations—such as XEL Communications, U S WEST, Inc. and Jeppessen-Sanderson.

Dr. Paul Olk is an Associate Professor of Management at the Daniels College of Business of the University of Denver. He has researched, taught and consulted on a variety of management topics, and specializes in the formation, management and performance of strategic alliances. The recipient of several teaching awards, he has consulted to small and large companies and to projects funded by U.S. federal government agencies.
His current research interests focus on the evaluation of performance of a strategic alliance as well as the formation and management of high technology, entrepreneurial alliances. In 2003 he received a fellowship from The Alliance Edge, Queen’s University to investigate strategic alliance performance criteria, and he recently completed a grant from the National Science Foundation to examine the formation of entrepreneurial alliances.
Paul’s publications have appeared in several books and in such journals as Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Sloan Management Review, and the Journal of High Technology Management. Paul currently serves as a board member of the Technology and Innovation Management Division of the Academy of Management and on the editorial review board of Organization Science, Group and Organization Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and Journal of Management Inquiry.
He received his Ph.D. from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. Prior to joining the University of Denver, he was on the faculty of the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Gordon Von Stroh is a Professor of Management and Director of the MBA – Customized Program and the Master of Science in Management Program in the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He has consulted extensively with both business and government, involving all levels and functions of the organizations. His experience includes working with over three hundred organizations, from very large, high-tech organizations to start-up service organizations. He has experience in working in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, including work in real estate, housing, historic properties, transportation, agriculture and retail.
Dr. Von Stroh has published over one hundred academic and trade journals, articles, books and monographs on managerial planning, business strategy, public policy and business, and motivation and leadership. He has served as a project leader on over fifty major research and action-oriented studies. Since September 1981, he has conducted the Denver Metropolitan Area Quarterly Apartment Vacancy and Rent Survey. Since September 1995, he has conducted the State of Colorado Multi-Family Housing Vacancy and Rent Survey. In addition, since 2001 he has conducted the City and County of Denver Rent Reasonableness Survey for both single and multi-family housing.
His professional work includes multi-family housing market studies. These have been for the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. They include affordable housing initiatives, market rate projects, restricted use developments, and the like. He has also helped jurisdictions to develop public policies relating to the promotion and development of housing, both single and multi-family. In addition, he has worked with a wide variety of organizations to assist them in developing workable business plans with an emphasis on both strategic and operational planning. Over the last thirty years, he has offered numerous seminars and participated in various conferences, attended by all levels of leaders and managers involving thousands of employees. The range of these seminars has been from public policy issues and strategic management to improving employee and organizational performance through better utilizing people and resources.
In 1991 he received the College of Business Administration Award for "Outstanding Teaching and Dedication to Students." In January of 2000, the Daniels College of Business awarded him the Diamond Teaching Award for “Excellence in Teaching.” In September 2001, he also received the College’s Outstanding Teaching Award. The University recognized him for his "Leadership on Behalf of the Faculty" in 1993. He has also been president of the University of Denver Faculty Senate for two terms and currently serves as Director of University Ceremonies. He is in a number of listings, including "Who's Who" and "Who's Who in the West." He is active in several professional organizations including the Academy of Management, American Economics Association, North American Case Writers Association and the American Society for Public Administration. He is on the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Corporation, serving as chair emeritus, and served as the board president for the seven years. Since 1981 he has been on the Board of Directors for the Central City Opera House Association serving as treasurer, secretary, and vice-president. In May 2000 he was appointed to the Board of the Cherokee Ranch and Castle Foundation and serves as its president. He is the chair of the Development Review Process Committee for Highlands Ranch, Colorado. His civic involvement has included work with the Denver Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Denver Business Partnership, Downtown Denver Business Partnership and the Colorado Forum, among others.

Dr. Joan Winn is Associate Professor of Management at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She earned her PhD at the University of Georgia, with a major in strategic management and a minor in human resources management. She has a Master’s Degree in counseling and guidance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MBA from Boise State University, and BS from Chicago State University. She has been a faculty member at the University of Denver since 1988, and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, Leadership and Organizational Dynamics, Organizational Behavior, and Women’s Issues in Business. She has given seminars and workshops at Miami University, Syracuse University, Sonoma State University, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Economics Prague, Charles University in Prague, University of Technology in Brno, West Virginia University and the American Embassy’s Woodrow Wilson Center in Prague.
Dr. Winn has conducted research on business turnarounds, entrepreneurship and strategic positioning, discrimination and harassment, international management and organizational culture. She is considered an expert in case research and has written several case studies on women-owned businesses in the US and in the Czech Republic. Her research and case studies have been published in the Journal of General Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Organization Change Management, International Encyclopedia of Business and Management, Case Research Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, Women in Management Review, and several conference proceedings and textbooks.
She has held offices in the Western Casewriters Association, North American Case Research Association and the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and is also member of the Academy of Management, World Association for Case Method Research and Application, International Council for Small Business, Western Academy of Management, Organizational Behavior Teaching Society, and Beta Gamma Sigma. She currently serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the Case Research Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal.
Prior to her academic career, she worked in retail, was a teacher, counselor, trainer, and property manager. She was the recipient of a John E. and Jeanne T. Hughes Entrepreneurship and Awareness Education Grant in 2001 and received a grant from the University of Denver’s Center for Teaching and Learning in 2004. She received awards for case studies at the John Molson Concours International d’étude de cas MBA in 1995 and 2003 and received the Daniels College of Business Integrative Scholarship Award in 2000 and 2004. She served on the Women’s Studies Executive Council and is a member of the Working Group for Ethical Theory and the Daniels College of Business Scholarship Committee. She is the Lead Academic on the Academic Panel of the International Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, an independent not-for-profit organization that develops and organizes seminars and boot camps for small business entrepreneurs. She spent the 1997-98 academic year in the Czech Republic with travels to Israel, China, Turkey, and South Africa. During the academic year 2004-2005, she was a Fulbright Scholar in the Czech Republic, conducting research on women entrepreneurs and economic development.

Dr. Dennis Wittmer is currently Associate Professor, Management Department, Daniels College of Business, University of Denver. He received his Ph.D. in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in 1992. His dissertation ("Ethical Sensitivity and Managerial Decision Making: An Experiment") received the best dissertation award from the Public and Nonprofit Sector of the Academy of Management for 1992. Dr. Wittmer primarily teaches courses in ethics, law and public policy. He was the coordinator responsible for curriculum development and teaching team identification for a two-quarter integrated Values in Action course for MBA students at the Daniels College. The course combines law, ethics and public policy dimensions of current issues in business.
Dennis currently holds the Piccinati Endowed Professorship at the Daniels College. This is a two-year rotating chair for excellence in teaching and teaching related research.
Research interests include empirical and conceptual studies of managerial ethics, designing and evaluating effective teaching strategies for ethics education in business, and studying effective methods for integrating service learning into a business curriculum. Some of his specific projects include developing empirical measures of ethical sensitivity for managerial decision making, linking individual moral development with organizational commitment, comparing ethical climates of public and private organizations, and comparing public and private sector management students in terms of level of moral development. Dr. Wittmer has done research in RandD science policy, project management effectiveness, reward preference in organizations, economic development policy, and public administration ethics.
Dr. Wittmer has numerous publications in such journals as Journal of Management History, Public Integrity, Public Administration Quarterly, Teaching Business Ethics Journal, Public Productivity and Management Review, Science and Public Policy, and Project Management Journal. He has contributed chapters to books such as Handbook of Administrative Ethics and the Handbook of Public Administration.
Dr. Wittmer also spent eight years working for the City of Syracuse. During that time he was engaged in a variety of responsibilities, including: directing the planning activities of the central grants office, intergovernmental relations at the federal level, and developing policy and planning for employment and training programs.
Dr. Wittmer has provided consulting and training services for such organizations as Lockheed Martin, First Data Corp., the Garibaldi Group, the City of Englewood, the Central Rockies Leadership Group, and John Mansville. He has also had international education and training experience in Kuwait and with Russian managers. For the past two years Dennis has delivered a short course in business ethics to MBA students at Kuwait University.
